A quarterly journal that publishes outstanding history research essays written by secondary school students — one of the only publications of its kind. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis and remain eligible for the next three issues; published authors are also considered for the Emerson Prize. Essays run roughly 5,000–10,000 words on any historical topic, with Chicago-style endnotes.
Open to secondary school students worldwide; the essay must be completed before finishing secondary school and be the student's sole, original work. Acceptance is highly selective (roughly 5% of submissions are published).
