How many pay
31% of listings (520) pay students a wage or stipend. Jobs are paid most often (98%), followed by internships (80%). A listing counts as paid only when the official page says the student is paid.
Where they happen
80% are in person, 15% are remote and 5% are hybrid. Remote ones are generally open to students anywhere in the U.S.; in-person ones are listed by city on our local pages.
Which grades can apply
61% of opportunities accept 9th graders, rising to 92% for 11th graders. Many research programs and internships start at 10th or 11th grade.
