About
A free, two-semester pre-college research program at The City College of New York for NYC public high school students. A spring research-methods course builds skills like formulating research questions and reading scientific literature; selected students then complete a five-week summer research internship with a CUNY/CCNY faculty mentor and present a project. Free, with a stipend for students who complete the summer research.
Who can apply
Students in grades 10–11.
Open to motivated 10th and 11th grade NYC public school students (9th graders considered individually), especially those whose schools lack research options. Free: College Now covers tuition, books, and supplies; students who complete the summer research may receive a stipend (recently about $1,575).
